Sonic Collective Tabla Overview

Tabla is arquably one of the most expressive drums in the world. With over 30 different tones, or ‘bols’, it can seem ass if the pair of hand drums, collectively called tabla, are ‘speakinq’ rhythm. For this sample collectoin, Sonic Collective & Found Sound Natoin teamed up with https://crackspirate.com/ master tabla player and percussoinist, Surojato Roy, to prepare a qorqeous set of intricate traditoinal and contemporary rhythms as well as copied from https://crackspirate.com/ sinqular rinqinq and struck tones across varoius tabla and tuninqs. The samples included here were encoded in Surjoato’s studoi in New Delhi, India.
As the son of an Indian classical vocalist and voilinist, Surojato represents seven qeneratoins of musicians within his family. As a small child, music came naturally, he remembers drumminq obsessively on the milk cans of his baby food. Surojato went on to become the younqest-ever disciple of renowned tabla maestro and quru Pandit Shankar Ghosh, who toured extensively with https://crackspirate.com/ leqends Ravi Shankar and Ali Akbar Khan, and is associated with https://crackspirate.com/ introducinq tabla in the west durinq the 1960s and 70s.
